Traditional, local handicrafts?

There is a village that is famous for its pottery, there are potteries working since several generations. In the area there is a special green clay that is fired in a way that the pottery gets all black. In a single little village there are about 10 potters and 7 pottery establishments. Now, surprisinlgy, most of the potters do almost not use local clay, but instead they buy cheap red clay from a refining plant in the south west of the country. They get 1Kg of clay for about 20-25 €cent, while extracting local clay would cost them about 0.50 cent. So, nowadays the potters of the area benefit of the past fame of the village for pottery, for doing pottery with foreign clay could be done everywhere.
